Charles with HE Ambassador Robert Tuttle, US Ambassador to the Court of St James

US Ambassador Robert Tuttle welcomed members of the British American Project to the US Embassy in London on 20th March. In an off the record discussion under the Chatham House Rule the Ambassador referred fluently and engagingly to almost every major issue facing the United States. In a wide ranging discussion chaired by BAP Fellow and leading BBC journalist Jane Hill, Ambassador Tuttle spoke for more than forty minutes to BAP Fellows and nominees for the 2007 intake of new Delegates.

Both intellectually and socially, BAP remains the highlight of my year . Having chaired the 2005 conference with Steve Hilton on a theme of Social Enterprise, I am always impressed by the ability of BAP participants to take risks with ideas, challenge their own prejudices, and forge friendships across a extraordinary breadth of individual experience.

The 2007 conference, on a theme of faith and justice, takes place in Newcastle this autumn.
